Tiffani Brush - Bass/Tenor Drummer

I started playing with UPB in January of 2011.  I fell in love with drumming at Bingham High School in 1986.  I went on to play with the marching band and percussion ensembles at the University Of Utah.  When I realized I wasn’t going to be able to make a living doing it, I put music aside and finished my BS, married my most excellent husband Steve, and began raising my kids, Elsie and Alec.  But I missed making music.

So after devoting those 16 years to my family I launched a personal renaissance.  (My husband is beginning to think it isn’t just a midlife crisis.)  I’m having a great time learning the nuance (and idiom) that distinguishes pipe band from other types of musical organizations.  The sheer physical joy of playing the drums again has revived my interest in life, in ways I didn’t know were lacking.

When I’m not playing with the UPB, I enjoy puttering in my garden, boating and camping with my family, and racking up the miles on my road bike.  I also earn some play money by sewing window treatments and occasionally wardrobe items for local film productions.
