Jon Buchanan - Piper
I have loved the bagpipes as long as I can remember. And it helped that my grandpa came straight from Scotland and my grandma straight from wales. My uncle Fred used to play his pipes on holidays and family parties. And then the passing if my grandparents really started this. We said "we have to keep this Scottish heritage going." So I got in touch with a childhood friend Tom McOmie thru Facebook and asked if he'd teach us the pipes. Me and my dad and my brother all started taking lessons.
I really like the Utah pipe band. I feel welcome and everyone is always willing to help. And I'm glad to be a part of it. We have a bunch of good pipers. I look up to all of you.
